Utonga Ecosystems Ltd
Utonga Ecosystems Ltd is a Kenyan social enterprise established to manage, develop, and steward conservation-led landscapes that balance ecological protection with sustainable economic activity.
Our work recognizes that long-term conservation depends on professional management, financial sustainability, and local participation. We design systems that allow nature to be protected while supporting viable economic activity.
Utonga Nature & Wildlife Conservancy (UNC)
We are the managing entity of Utonga Nature & Wildlife Conservancy (UNC), where we apply a long-term, landscape-based approach to conservation that integrates indigenous forest restoration, wetland protection, research, education, eco-tourism, and community-linked enterprises.
Our conservation model is grounded in the belief that conservation must be economically honest, socially rooted, and professionally managed to endure.
Conservation and Enterprise
Utonga Ecosystems operates at the intersection of conservation and enterprise. We design and manage low-impact tourism experiences, conservation infrastructure, and nature-based initiatives that generate revenue while safeguarding biodiversity and cultural heritage within the Lake Victoria basin.
Community and Shared Value
Working closely with local communities, conservation partners, and institutions, we ensure that environmental protection delivers shared value by strengthening livelihoods, building local capacity, and securing natural ecosystems for future generations.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is simple but deliberate: to prove that conservation and enterprise can work together to create landscapes that are protected, productive, and built to last.
